Eleven fatalities were reported in April 1945 when – six on a single day (on April 17, 1945). The most frequent cause of such loses was fire of light AA guns defending Luftwaffe bases. The 4th FG lost three its members. The attached table provides an overview.
BTW, the mission report of the 368th FG says 2/Lt John H. Banks's plane was hit in the vicinity of the town of Pirna (Saxon), some 40 miles out of the crash site...
