On April 20, 1945 at 5.15 p.m. fighters (probably Thunderbolts) of the 9th Air Force finished off what was left of the passenger station after the raid of the B-24 Liberators of the 389th and 445th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, on the same day against the marshalling yards in Klatovy, Czechoslovakia. Bombs dropped by the fighters started a fire at the turntable in front of the roundhouse.
